When The Beat of My Drum Meets The Beat of Your Heart

Ok, are the holidays over yet? (Looks over her shoulder) Yeah, I hope so. Phew! These past few months have been anything but easy. It seems like everyone stressed out to get the perfect turkey, make the perfect dessert, and pick the perfect Christmas gift. Don't get me wrong, I love the holidays, especially Christmas. I love Christmas because of what it means. Many people don't celebrate the meaning of Christmas. Jesus is THE reason for the season. A lot of us just celebrate Christmas to give and get gifts. Getting gifts is fun, but giving is what I like the best. Like when you get someone something they didn't expect to get and their faces just lit up, that's the reaction that I love to see. But giving doesn't have to be materialistic. You can give by being a good friend, good coworker, and just being more like Jesus.

Anyways, Christmas came and went. It feels like forever ago that we got together with family and friends. I mean, where DOES the time really go? I wish that I could just freeze time and enjoy every single minute. Most of the times I am on the go and forget to stop and take in life around me. I always have to remind myself to enjoy the moment a stranger says hi or flashes me a smile. Those moments can never be recreated.

I've been sick since the 30th of December, but drinking tea out of my now favorite mug giving to me by my MIL, made me feel a little better. Oh and eating Chick-fil-a nuggets and drinking sweat tea. I don't eat fast food at all, it's just not appealing to me, but if I am not feeling well, CFA is the best comfort food.
I love penguins...the end.
Chick-Fil-A is just so much better when you aren't feeling well. Oh, and their sweet tea!

Here's my pretty boy just keeping an eye on his momma.

Him just knows when momma isn't feeling well. My cuddle bug!

On Saturday, we celebrated my littlest nephew turning 1! Wow, I can't believe it's been a year already. He's such a sweet little boy and lifts my spirits when ever I see him. He's laugh and smile just melts my heart. I love being his aunt. I just love being an aunt. It seriously is the best thing in the world, next to being a mom, of course. Anyways, I think he had a blast!
Little Bear and I. I love this kid!

Him just being silly
My other nephew "trying out" his cousin's new toy. Haha!
So tomorrow I will be turning 30. The big 3-oh! God has been good to me all these years and He's not done with me yet. What a blessing it is to celebrate another decade. In my 20s I was wild and learned a lot about life from the many mistakes I made. I learned who my true friends were, that family will ALWAYS be there for you and what real love was. I wouldn't change anything from my past because without my past, I wouldn't be where I am now. I wouldn't be the God fearing woman that married such a Godly man.

Every year for the past 10 years, I treat myself to a new hairdo/haircut a day before my birthday. I've been going to the same hairdresser for the past 4 years and I love her! I trust her so much with my hair. I used to be scared of getting my hair trimmed...yeah, I preferred going to the dentist than getting it trimmed. Ok, well, I love going to the dentist anyways...I know, I'm weird. Haha!
Waiting for the toner to highlight my natural highlights.

Tah-Dah! This picture doesn't do justice to my amazing highlights

I wanted to try something different. I told the hubs that I wanted to have some dark purple highlights (one of my favorite colors), he said no haha. I then said I would get my hair cut shoulder length, he still said no because he loves my long hair. Yeah, I do too. I don't think I have the guts to have my hair that short. So I decided to get shorter bangs...ooooh, that's how adventurous I am! A year ago, I had done ombre on my virgin hair. That was the craziest I've ever had my hair. I loved the ombre. The tips were blonde and I got a lot of compliments. Well, I got tired of having the same color and I asked Leslie to just dye my hair back to my natural color, dark brown. She did warn me that the bottom where the blonde used to be might get lighter in a couple of weeks. Well, it sure did! Funny thing is that I got a lot of compliments on my "ombre" (the bottom got lighter like she said) and got asked where I got it done. So today, Leslie just toned the bottom to where it's a lighter brown. She never fails me! She's just amazing at what she does. I'm happy with my end result, like always.

Well, that's about all I did the past couple of weeks. Right now I am just enjoying some homemade turkey chili and a glass or two of some vino. I'm celebrating my birthday eve! Actually, I celebrate my birth week! Haha! So here's to my whole 30 years of life. May the next decade be just as great or better than my last two decades. Thank you all for being part of my life the past few years. Thank you to God, my mom, dad, hubs, family, and friends for always being there for me. I am truly blessed!
Happy birthday eve to me!

Much love!
