I've been waiting a long time for this moment to come I'm destined for anything...at all

Aaaaah! Is it time to test yet?! I'm patiently waiting, laying around, playing video games, watching shows and movies. The hubs has been nothing but amazing. As I type, he is doing laundry, working, and making sure I am comfortable. It's only 2dp5dt (2 days past 5 day transfer. My embryo was a 5 day blastocyst). I can technically test in 5 days and get a very faint positive, which I probably will, but I'm scared. My friend Christie said she's going to go buy all of the HPTs from Dollar Tree so I can test every day starting on Tuesday. Yes, hi, my name is Sindi and I am a POAS addict (Pee on a stick) haha!

So on Wednesday, a day before my FET, Christie and I took a day trip to Austin, since it's only like a 2 1/2 hr trip from us. We went because I wanted some Detroit style pizza from Via 313, which I saw on Food Network and they were rated #5 best pizza in the US. So we HAD to go and it was the best decision ever!

We got half and half. Half The Cadillac (Gorgonzola, Fig Preserves, Prosciutto di Parma, Parmesan / Balsamic Glaze) and half The Detroiter (Smoked Pepperoni under the cheese , Natural Casing Pepperoni on top) Amazing!

Look at the deliciousness...LOOK AT IT!!!!

I got a Faygo (Detroit Soda Pop) as my drink. It was a Vanilla Creme

After that, we went to Driftwood, TX, which is only like 15 miles southwest of Austin and we found the motherland of wineries! It was winery heaven! So we drove around and looked at all of the cute wineries the area had to offer. We went to two wineries. One of them was Duchman Family Winery. That place was gorgeous! They had a Trattoria Italian Restaurant on sight. I kept telling Christie that I wanted to get married again so I could have my wedding there...haha! Did you hear that hubs? Maybe for our 10 year anniversary?

Their wine is amazing! They only have Italian grapes, so no merlot or cab here. I forget the one I had. They have a total of 8 wines and they've all won a lot of medals and awards.
If you are ever in town, I highly suggest you visit Duchman.

Multo Vino

Mmm...vino :)

After Duchman, we went to Bell Springs Winery, which I had like 3 sips of my wine cause I had to drive back home later. I have to be a responsible adult, ya know ;) Their wines are named after their dogs, which is adorable and I can sooooo see myself doing that when Christie and I own a vineyard haha!

This one is called Needy Bitch after their Aussie Shepherd that is apparently very needy...haha!

Such a cute place for a wedding as well.

These were in the bathroom at Bell Springs

Drinking wine and ironing is seriously the best! Haha! Just ask the hubs.
Self explanatory :D
After Bell's, we got pretty hungry and we drove by Salt Lick's BBQ. Ok, so I don't like meat, I prefer vegetables over meat, but WOW! Salt Lick's is amazing! I just had to order an extra plate to go for the hubs. He ate it the next day and said it was delicious.
They had this cute little kitty cat outside of Salt Lick Cellars just laying around. What a life!

My yummy plate. I loved their brisket, beans, coleslaw, and potato salad. I want to go back!

Funny story. Our friends were in the same town! How crazy is that? What a small world. So they stopped at Salt Lick's to say hi :D

Look at all that meat!
After Salt Lick's we had planned on going to Gourdough's Public House in downtown Austin. We were ready to go home but we had to stop and get dessert...duh! So drool over our delicious desserts we got at Gourdough's. Yum!
Hi, Mr cute Gourdough's!

Mmm...that's how I feel right now with all these darn progesterone shots, estrogen pills, and patches :P

Christie got The Puddin'. Which is cream filled, cream cheese icing, bananas, and vanilla wafer on a donut. Delicious!

I got The Donut Puddin'. Which is a Southern style bread pudding topped with a sweet rum sauce.
We had such a blast, but we were beat and I had to get ready for my FET the next morning. So worth it though!

And ladies and gents, this is what we call team work! Go Team Barker! Trying to have this little embaby stick for the next 9 months. Also, remember how terrified I was of the PIO shots. Psssh, easy peacy lemon squeezie. My doctor was even surprised that I didn't mind them at all. Oh and a shout out to Christie for administrating 2 out of the 8 shots I had to get. She now can identify my butt if anything happens to me, haha! The only bad thing about the PIO shots, the gain weight...that's something no one talks about. Along with the estrogen pills, estrogen patches, and prednisone, my poor body is going crazy. I've gained a total of 6 lbs. and it's all around my belly. It's mostly bloat. I haven't really change my eating habits, but I know it'll all be worth it when I have my baby or babies in my arms <3

This is true love...or he likes it cause he's getting back at me for all the times I've been mad at him haha!

Afterwards, I get Menchie's! Yum :) Thanks hubs. He's the best!
Welp, that's all for now! I'm sure I'll have more "I'm bored and can't get up from bed" post in the next few days. Hope you are all having a great weekend! I wish I could be at The Best Damn Food Truck Festival...waaaah. If you are going, eat some delicious food for me. Thank you! God bless!

  1. Hi! I've been following your blog for a while. No idea how I found it, but you and I share a lot of the same issues : PCOS, uterine septum (mine was removed after a MC). Anyway, my husband and I are trying to decide between IVF or keep going with IUI. We got pregnant before with IUI but have had two failed cycles since the miscarriage. Any words of wisdom? Been doing lots of soul searching :)

Best of luck with your cycle! Will be praying for good news very soon!

    1. Hi Megan! Thanks for following my journey. I'm so sorry for your loss. the journey that we endure is a very bumpy road, but all I know is that God put us on this road for a reason. I has preterm labor on October 2014 and we had to wait till January to start trying again. 3 failed IUIs later, our RE talked to us about trying IVF. I was all onboard, except the hubs. I finally convinced him a couple of weeks later to at least have a talk with our doctor. Only words of wisdom I have for you is to do what feels right in your heart. I felt like IVF was the next step for us. Of course, both you and the hubs have to be onboard ;-) Also, pray for guidance. God speaks to us in unusual ways. I'm praying you find the answer you are looking for! Thank you so much for following me, cyster <3 God bless!!
